The start

I was busy on my laptop getting Figma screens ready for an upcoming meeting, when...

Bam! Kapow! What happened?

I find myself with peers of varying ages trying to decode the assignment our professor had given us. I had time traveled back to college.

Did I time travel?

Not entirely true.I am back in college, but for my masters. It is … exciting + weird (for lack of better words) to be back in an educational institution after ‘adulting’ with a stable job for 4 years. It feels like I one day decided to join college and before I knew it I’m a student again.

Fairy godmother on vacation

But I know that it wasn't an over night change. My fairy god mother did not turn up in her pumpkin carriage and whisk me to college.

I actively made that choice and pursued that path (something I need to remind myself). I had a strong set of reasons WHY I wanted to take this path, one of them being to allow myself to devote time + energy to becoming a better designer. Though my ‘whys’ are a bit foggy at the moment.

My 'why's' are foggy at the moment

I am happy and very grateful to have reached my goal. But I am also beginning to realize that this is just the start. Start of new friends, start of living in a hostel, start of new thought processes, start of home sickness, start of learning new things, start of new food, start of new schedule…

And all these ‘starts’ are making me a bit dizzy. Hopefully over time, I’ll stop spinning around and start moving in a concrete direction. Though it has just been a week since the start of my ‘back to college for masters’ arc, it has felt like a month. I hope it also means that I have grown one months worth in a week. And to keep up with the theme of new beginnings, I decided to create my first blog post.
